Product care

Recommended care and washing

To keep your new Terezie swimwear in excellent condition for as long as possible, we recommend the following for its delicate fabrics:

  • Hand wash with a very gentle detergent.
  • Do not bleach, iron, dry clean, tumble dry or dry in direct sunlight.
  • Protect swimwear from rough surfaces and heavily chlorinated water.
  • Avoid sunscreens and oils that may cause discolouration. Such changes cannot be recognised as a manufacturing defect.

We recommend rinsing swimwear before first wear. Fabrics may not be completely colourfast.

Hand washing is best for Terezie swimwear. If you choose to machine wash, use a gentle cycle at no more than 30°C.

How to wash swimwear

Rule number one: never leave wet, sweaty or sunscreen-soaked swimwear in a plastic bag for long. Plastic prevents air circulation and causes unpleasant odours. Use a fabric bag instead, or wrap it in a towel or bathrobe.

After a long day at the beach, remove all sand before washing and check the inner seams carefully.

Hand washing is best. Do not leave swimwear soaking; rinse it immediately under cold or warm running water, never hotter than 30°C.

Use a specialist swimwear detergent or mild, neutral soap, then rinse thoroughly. Detergents can alter the fabric's pH and disrupt the chemical bond between dye and fibre, causing dark marks.

After washing, squeeze out the water thoroughly and turn the swimwear inside out. Hang it with pegs on the straps or upper edge. In good weather, let it dry outdoors, away from direct sunlight that could fade the colours.

If the care label says the swimwear contains elastomer, it will also state that it should be hung to dry, allowing water to drain and disperse faster and more evenly than when dried flat.

These are the basic washing steps. Next, learn how to remove stubborn stains.

How to wash stained swimwear

Like any garment, swimwear can become stained. The main causes are:

Sunscreens and oils: Spray sunscreens are especially likely to stain swimwear. Spray the product into your hands first, then apply it to your skin.

Salt and chlorine: Unavoidable at the sea or pool, salt can leave whitish marks and chlorine an unpleasant smell.

To avoid sunscreen and salt stains and chlorine odour, wash swimwear immediately after use. Once they set in, they are difficult to remove: harsh detergents and bleach would damage the fabric more than sunscreen and chlorine combined.

We tested our swimwear fabrics countless times during development, considering every situation. TEREZIE TRUSINOVÁ swimwear uses innovative materials chosen for maximum resistance to chlorine, salt, sunscreens and oils. To keep your skin comfortable, they wick moisture and protect it from harmful UV rays.

We created Terezie Trusinová swimwear so you don't have to compromise between style and function.

Can swimwear be machine washed?

Hand washing is always best. For your convenience, however, we have developed fabrics that can also be machine washed.

At the end of summer, choose the gentlest machine programme without spinning. Use a cold wash or a temperature up to 30°C.

Dry swimwear as soon as possible after washing. A gentle dryer setting may also be used.

How to store swimwear

Keep your swimwear beautiful until next summer with these storage tips:

Make sure swimwear is completely dry before storing it at the end of the season.

Fold padded bikini tops without stretching elastic bands or folding the padding.

Do not seal swimwear in plastic bags. Use a fabric bag, cardboard box or tissue paper instead.
